Leadership ISO 14001:2015
One of the central changes of the ISO 14001:2015 revision is Section 5, titled Leadership. The change is with the way that top management approaches the application of EMS. Also, there are significant changes in the way that leaders need to perform.
ISO 14001:2015 Leadership establishes clear expectations for top management. Not only are executives accountable for the effectiveness of their EMS, they also have specific tasks:
- Establishing objectives to supporting relevant managers in their roles.
- Integrating the EMS requirements into the organization’s business process.
- These managers will need to focus on the planning process to ensure that these systems meet the intended outcomes, as well as to establish performance objectives.
This Executive Team (Top Management) is responsible for the effectiveness of the EMS. To accomplish this, environmental considerations need to be woven into their core business processes
