Monitoring, Measurement, Analysis and Evaluation
Section 9.1.1 General
The organization shall guarantee that calibrated or verified monitoring and measurement equipment is both used and maintained as deemed appropriate. Furthermore, the organization must ascertain what, the methods, benchmark, when to, and how the results are evaluated, from the monitoring and measurement. Communicating relevant environmental performance information both internally and externally is required by its compliance obligations. Additionally, each organization needs to retain the appropriate documented information as evidence of the monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation results.
Section 9.1.2 Evaluation of Compliance
Data that reflects the performance of the EMS must be evaluated fulfillment of its compliance obligations. Each organization must: determine the frequency that compliance will be evaluated; assess compliance and take action if necessary; and maintain knowledge and understanding of compliance status.
Documented data must be available as proof of compliance.
