When you working to understand the context of your organization, you must decide what external and internal issues are related to the organization’s overall purpose, and that affect the organization’s capability to accomplish their expected outcomes of the EMS. Issues defined must include environmental conditions being affected by or capable of influencing the organization, such as pollution levels and ecosystem health.
To help measure the organization’s EMS an organization can use Key Performance Indicators (KPI). KPIs are the measurement tools, which assists organizations in defining and measuring their progress towards their EMS goals.
