General Requirements for Improvement
10.1 requires an organization to determine and identify opportunities for improving their EMS. This requirement is designed to ensure that your EMS is effective and adequate for your organization in regards to environmental performance.
Organizations must determine opportunities for improvement in regards to Section 9.1, “Monitoring, measurement, analysis, and evaluation,” Section 9.2, “Internal Audit,” and Section 9.3 “management review.” Using this information, the organization must actively look for opportunities to improve processes, products or services, particularly with future customer requirements in mind.
