Clause 6 of the requirements for ISO 14001:2015, is titled “Planning”. This clause ensures the organization has the constituents it needs to determine that the EMS can meet the expected goals.
Clause 6 builds on and extends the ISO 14001: 2004 requirements. The requirements vary from organization to organization and depend on the nature and extent of existing evaluation techniques. The new 2015 requirements are grouped around five key areas: leadership, strategic context, interested party analysis and communication, risks and opportunities, and lastly the life cycle perspective. These changes are designed to increase corporate resilience and competitive advantage.
